Some good advice, especially the “make it easy for your customers to buy from you” message. It is very important that you allow this to happen, it is too easy for them to go elsewhere if you make it hard.

I really enjoy these little video posts. I wish they were longer!

Interesting what Jim said about networking and trust. Surely you have to get to know people before you like them and ultimately start to trust them. I’ve always approached networking from the point of view of treating everyone equally and taking in interest in what they do. I guess i’ve always worked on the basis that you never know who someone may know that could help you so it pays to invest a bit of time in them.

I do like Jim’s point about taking advice from other business owners etc, I think it’s a real shame though that there isn’t a structure to this in place for small businesses in Scotland.

Thanks Wayne – it is vital for my company to be continually updating our knowledge re “entrepreneurs” and the entrepreneur mindset
We are working with young people in business and schools encouraging the very same attitudes of self belief – opportunity spotting – customer commitment – be ambitious etc
