Angela set up her first business – Kite Ltd – eleven years ago and sold the company to Head Resourcing, one of Scotland’s leading HR and Recruitment specialists, in 2007.
In 2006, she set up a web based company based in Inverness called hijobs.co.uk – focusing on driving talent to the Highlands and Islands. After building this in to the leading job board for the area, hijobs was taken over by a national job board in early 2009.
Angela is involved with a number of small, high growth potential businesses in a Board Advisor / Non-Executive Director capacity – as well advising two global oil services businesses on talent attraction.
She also mentors two pre-launch businesses and is an active participant in many ‘proof of concept’ new business projects. She is an active networker both in Central and North Scotland and was a director of the Entrepreneurial Exchange for four years. She is passionate about supporting new enterprise, is a frequent contributor to business shows on Radio Scotland and in 2008 project managed the publication of the book ‘Portraits of Inspiration’ – an Exchange project celebrating Entrepreneurial achievements in Scotland. This interest has now developed online with the launch of the site – www.guruspot.co.uk – which aims to inspire young businesses through video.
In 2007, Angela was one of 20 women who took part in the Booby Birds sky dive challenge raising over £400,000 for breast cancer. A keen if slow runner, she completed her first marathon in October 2010. She is currently pulling together a team of rookies to attempt the London Triathlon in 2011. www.ttrookies.co.uk
