Richard is the Managing Director of Richard F Mackay Ltd – a high quality furniture and carpet retailer in Edinburgh. They have been trading successfully for in excess of 80 years and has a turnover in excess of £5m.
Richard was educated at George Watsons College in Edinburgh then started in the family business –where one of his first jobs was loading trucks!
He believes whole heartedly in the ethos of ‘giving more that you get’ and has raised in excess of £50,000 for charity. He is currently a trustee of Build Aid – a registered charity doing work in Thailand and Haiti.
Richard also has some property interests, is a keen musician and enjoys transatlantic sailing, skydiving and spending time with his family .
